A quick look: Dreamweaver CS3 is a web development program that offers both visual and text-based coding interfaces.

Adobe® Dreamweaver® web design software, originally developed by Macromedia, includes two types of environments. One, which is designed for non-coders, offers an intuitive, visual interface to help build web pages. Alternatively, an experienced coder can generate code manually for more complex sites. It supports a variety of technologies, ranging from HTML to Ajax to Adobe's own Contribute® software.

Design dynamic websites Adobe's Dreamweaver software includes support for the new Spry framework for Ajax. Spry lets you include interactive content, page transitions and effects, and interface components. Dreamweaver also supports a host of web technologies besides Ajax, like HTML, CSS, ASP, and JavaScript.

Ensure consistency For experienced web designers, the direct coding interface of Dreamweaver offers handy features like code collapse, color-coding, and a helpful toolbar. CSS, a popular technology which separates document formatting from content, is supported by Dreamweaver, and the software also includes browser compatibility checking and style rendering, allowing you to preview content as users would see it.

Integrate with other programs If you use other Adobe products, you can import files and assets directly between programs like Photoshop® and Fireworks®. Text can be quickly imported from supported Microsoft® Office® programs, and you can include customized FLV (Flash Video) content with no knowledge of Flash®.
