Academic Policies

1. To order from Techsoftronics.com and receive our special educational prices, you must be a current student, faculty member or staff member of an accredited and degree-granting U.S. academic institution (grade school, high school, college or university). Home-schooled students also qualify for discounts. K-12 students do not qualify for most Microsoft products - only the student/teacher editions of software. We also accept school purchase orders. 2. Acceptable Forms of Academic ID One of the following: A copy of dated student ID card, dated faculty ID card, dated current class schedule, letter from school on school letterhead, recent faculty/staff pay stub, or school purchase order. Entity, Organization, etc. Restrictions* Non-Profit Organizations defined by Section 501(c)(3) May purchase Macromedia (view Macromedia Nonprofit License Option pricing), Auto FX, FileMaker, Hash, Corel, Inspiration and Sony Pictures Digital products. Unable to purchase Adobe, Boris or Microsoft products. Must fax proof of non-profit status and pre-pay by credit card or check. We do not accept PO's from non-profits.

Government May purchase Hash & Eovia products. Cannot purchase Adobe, Microsoft, or Macromedia. The Graduate School, USDA does not qualify for academic discounts.

Military Schools Must be an accredited institution that is degree granting with a minimum of two years of full time instruction in order to qualify. The following are qualified to purchase products: Air Force Academy (CO), West Point (NY), Naval Academy (MD), Air Force Institute (OH), The Citadel (SC), Virginia Military Institute (VA)

Training Centers Do NOT qualify. This includes the following: Ziff Davis University, Learning Tree University (may only purchase 3ds max), Learning Tree International, New Horizon Computer Learning Center, Computer Career Institute, Maric College, Keiser Career Institute, The Spot!

Certificate-granting Schools School of Visual Concepts may purchase Macromedia, however, no Adobe products. The Computer College Silicon Valley does not qualify for academic pricing.

Online Learning Sites Thomson Education Direct does qualify. The following do NOT qualify: Macromedia University, Sessions.edu

Churches May purchase Hash, Corel, Cakewalk, and Macromedia products.

Hospitals May purchase Adobe and Macromedia if they are wholly-owned and operated by a school. All Hospitals can purchase Hash and Corel products.

Museums May purchase Macromedia if they are wholly-owned and operated by a school. Cannot purchase Adobe products. All Museums can purchase Corel, Microsoft and Symantec products.

Libraries May purchase Macromedia if they are wholly-owned and operated by a school. Cannot purchase Adobe products. All public and school libraries may purchase Corel and Microsoft products.

Research Laboratories Laboratories must be recognized by the Department of Education. Institutions recognized by government branches such as the Department of Defense or Energy are not eligible. The following do NOT qualify: Sandia National Laboratory, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory

APO Schools May purchase Adobe software, however, will need to ship to a US address.

Indian Tribes May qualify for Adobe products if being used in an Education department.

What is the difference between the products offered on this website and the commercial versions of these products? The main difference is that the educational version cannot be used for commercial purposes. These programs are functionally identical to the commercial versions. As a qualified educational customer, you are eligible to purchase software at academic discounts.

Is this software a legal, licensed copy? Yes. We purchase from authorized educational and commercial resellers for the products on our website. Once you register your software, you will be in full compliance with software copyright regulations.

Who is qualified to buy software from Techsoftronics.com? You need to be a registered student to receive educational pricing. After you graduate or are no longer registered as an active student, you will not qualify for educational pricing. However, qualified institutions and faculty/staff members are eligible to purchase software.
